• With a destination wedding, we were able to create an amazing guest experience with memorable details and fun moments we otherwise would not have been able to afford in the US. For example, our resort coordinator helped us organize customized coconuts for the guests after a hot ceremony, to refresh during the cocktail hour!

I would recommend future wedding couples that are doing a destination wedding to just relax and go with the flow. You have to put your trust into the resort and they will go above and beyond to make your dreams come true. But if you have a type A personality, it may be hard for you to let someone take the reins. But just trust the process! I promise they will make it all worthwhile. They do so many weddings a week so they definitely know what they are doing!

-I would recommend a destination wedding because it is much easier and cheaper than a regular at-home wedding. From the destination wedding specialist to the wedding coordinator at the resort, you basically have all the big things covered and taken care of before you arrive. I also enjoyed having up to a week with some of my guests and spending more time with them than just a few hours at the wedding. We all made amazing memories that will last a lifetime and had times we will never forget!

• Why would you recommend a destination wedding to future couples? We highly recommend having a destination wedding because you get to have a vacation with all your closest friends and family in addition to having them be there for one of the most important days in your lives. There will never be another time where all of our loved ones will be together again like they were for our wedding. Having a destination wedding allowed extra time for everyone to get to know each other and celebrate outside of the wedding day. Planning was such a breeze from start to finish. Beth was definitely a huge part of that! She helped us choose a resort based on our preferences and also handled our guests' accommodations. Thanks, Beth! I also love that the resort makes everything so easy so you don't really have to lift a finger! It was the best week of our lives and it turned out even better than we could have imagined. Everyone had so much fun and it was a week that everyone will remember. We would do it over and over again!

• My number one tip for future destination wedding couples:  Don't sweat the small details and if you have room in your budget for HORA LOCA or equivalent entertainment, DO IT!

Our destination wedding in the Dominican Republic was truly unforgettable, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. With approximately 125 of our closest friends and family, it felt more like a shared vacation than just a wedding. Spending several days with everyone leading up to the big day took so much pressure off. It gave us the chance to connect with each guest beforehand, so when the wedding day arrived, we could focus on celebrating and having fun rather than rushing around trying to greet everyone.

The reception on the beach created the most magical and tropical vibe—a perfect setting for a fun, carefree party. One of the highlights of the night was the hora loca (or “crazy hour”), where vibrant costumed dancers energized the crowd and got everyone moving. The energy was electric! To top it all off, we ended the evening by jumping into the pool, with many of our guests joining in—it was such a joyous and spontaneous way to close out the night.

Choosing the right location and resort was critical, and hiring Beth Rasor as our travel agent was the best decision we made. Before finding Beth, we were overwhelmed with options and stuck in indecision about where to host our wedding. Once we explained our vision, she helped us narrow it down and made everything so much easier. She recommended the Royalton Bávaro Resort, which turned out to be perfect. The resort offered something for everyone: stunning beaches, great restaurants, family-friendly amenities, and lively theme nights.

This whole experience start to finish was more than I could have dreamed of.  Starting with all of Beth’s hard work in travel planning with our group. We had a lot of unique and not easy requests and the wedding team (Jazmin especially) went above and beyond. The entire waitstaff was top notch, people keep telling us it was the best service they’ve ever had. The food was great. We did our send-off from the reception area and ran straight to the ocean. Half of our guests jumped in with us and the other half were equally as entertained watching. It felt like an epic way to end the best day ever!

Our destination wedding was everything and more to us. It was giving constant romantic, timeless vibes which is exactly what we were looking for. Six months later the family is still talking about how nonstop fun it was and how they are wanting to go back! A couple family members are also planning on doing a destination wedding once they get engaged. Knowing that, we have forwarded over Beth’s information because she made us feel the most comfortable and most knowledgeable about the resort. We had the time of our lives. We joke about it and ask each other if we would get married here again and we would. Everyone was so nice being a same sex couple as well, we did not feel out of place everyone was so supportive. I will recommend a destination wedding to every single engaged couple I cross paths with. It was the most amazing and memorable experience. It’s cost effective and you are able to spend additional time with your friends and family on a beautiful resort. I have no regrets and I wouldn’t do anything differently. It was the easiest process and there is no reason to stress. Everything you want can be done and it will be done to perfection. I was definitely a hands off bride. One of our favorite memories would be the fireworks during the reception, which was a surprise to all our guest. Seeing their faces was priceless and we would highly recommend doing them. Why would you recommend a destination wedding to future couples? Typical weddings are one day, when you have a destination wedding you are guaranteed quality time with your favorite people, in a stunning destination. It was nice to see our family and friends get to know each other, which typically wouldn't happen during a 4 hour reception.
