My Destination Wedding was…
My destination wedding was unhinged (in a good way!) So many personalities and so many different types of people that all came together for us. Everyone created their own memories of their own vacation, memories with people in our family and friend group that haven’t even met, and memories with us. People keep talking about our wedding to this day almost two years later. Normal wedding only last a couple of hours and we were able to spread our love out and really spend time with each and every person throughout the days we were at our resort. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. But our actual wedding day was insanely fun and I wish I could bottle that feeling up forever.
What would you recommend to future destination wedding couples?
I would recommend future wedding couples that are doing a destination wedding to just relax and go with the flow. You have to put your trust into the resort and they will go above and beyond to make your dreams come true. But if you have a type A personality, it may be hard for you to let someone take the reins. But just trust the process! I promise they will make it all worthwhile. They do so many weddings a week so they definitely know what they are doing!
Describe one of your favorite memories or highlights of your destination wedding
Our favorite memory was being with all of our closest friends and family. It was so fun to be able to relax, party and just unwind with everyone. There really wasn’t a pinpointed favorite on our wedding day because it flew by. It was so important to soak up that vacation throughout the span of a couple of days which is why we knew we wanted to do a destination wedding. It allowed us to really rake in the memories instead of blinking and the wedding being over.
My number one tip for future destination wedding couples
I would be not to spend a ton of wedding decor because where you are getting married is the most beautiful decor of all.
