Describe one of your favorite memories or highlights of your destination wedding:
Besides marrying my best friend, one of my favorite memories from our wedding weekend was the welcome party. Because our wedding was a destination, it was the first time Jamie and I got to see all of our favorite people in one place, and that feeling alone was incredibly special. The party itself was perfect — but what made it unforgettable was that it didn’t end when the event did. We flowed straight into karaoke at the resort and ended the night dancing for hours at the club. It felt like one long, joyful celebration that perfectly set the tone for the rest of the wedding.
Why would you recommend a destination wedding to future couples?
One of the biggest reasons we chose a destination wedding is because our families live in different parts of the country — so instead of choosing one place, we decided to make everyone travel and truly make a time out of it. I would especially recommend doing it at a resort. If you’re hands-on, you absolutely can be, but if you’re like me and had no idea what you were doing, it’s a dream. Beth walked us through everything, and the resort brought our vision to life. While every wedding has moments of stress, this took so much of the weight off that when Jamie and I arrived, we were completely relaxed and ready to enjoy every second.

My destination wedding was overwhelming in the best way — being surrounded by our favorite people, celebrating all week, laughing, dancing, and soaking in every moment. It was a party, a reunion, and the wedding of our dreams all wrapped into one.
Your number one tip (or two) for future destination wedding couples
Do it. Plan the destination wedding. Truly. It’s worth it.
Soak it all in. Be like Pam in The Office and take those mental pictures. It’s so rare to have all the people you love in the same place at the same time — and even though it’s your wedding, it’s also a vacation for everyone. Once the important parts are done, let yourself relax, laugh, and fully enjoy being on a trip with all your favorite people.
