Describe one of your favorite memories or highlights of your destination wedding:
Getting to spend more 1x1 time with my guests before and after the wedding night was so nice. There are people I feel like I didn't get to spend enough time with and most of my guests were there for 3 days, so I can't imagine if they just had traveled in for one night. It was also nice that because everyone was there for a few days, guests got to know each other and recognize who was part of our wedding group.
I would also like to shout out the wedding team onsite at The Fives because we truly felt like royalty all week, they made everything we asked for (and more!) happen and always did it with a smile on their face. The week wouldn't have been the same without our amazing wedding coordinators!
Why would you recommend a destination wedding to future couples?
I think there are a ton of benefits to having a destination wedding. For the bride's family, for any of the places we were considering getting married, they'd have to travel to anyway so we thought we might as well make it somewhere fun and that could double as a vacation. It also helped us financially as we felt like we got to include everything we wanted within our budget and even had some room at the end to add a few last-minute things. I also loved getting to spend more than one day with all our guests, because the wedding day you are truly so busy and it goes by so fast!

My destination wedding was one of the best weeks of my life! I was so sad when we had to leave and wanted to relive the week again!
Your number one tip (or two) for future destination wedding couples:
Tip 1: Get yourself a Beth from Luxury Travel Boutique
One of the most stressful parts for me was starting the planning process. We didn't know where to begin when considering where to have our wedding and Beth was a huge help for us. She not only provided a list of resorts that would fit our budget, style, and other must haves; she organized our trip to do site visits which was a game changer. I would 100% recommend visiting the resort for even just a few hours before booking there. We didn't get to stay at our resort before the wedding week, but we got to do a site visit for a few hours and we knew almost immediately during our visit that The Fives is what we wanted to choose.
Tip 2:
Everyone warned me about the slower response time from the destination wedding groups at Mexico resorts. I personally didn't have many issues with this but we did do a lot of the planning within the 6 months before wedding. Don't stress about this timeline, they are used to it and everything gets done! I would say getting my photographer early was good , and being organized and knowing what types of things I wanted/having already made a few decisions before we started the official planning with the resort was helpful. You get asked a lot of questions and there are a lot of emails back and forth, so document your decisions in case you need to reference back to them.

Beth and her team made planning our wedding so much easier! We didn't even really know where to begin when starting to plan our destination wedding, and Beth did a lot of the heavy lifting in finding resorts that matched our wants/needs and also with setting up the site visits. Without her, I am not sure we would've found our resort! She also helped with the planning process and booked all of our guests room reservations. We are so grateful we were able to work with this group!
